The largest violin making company in Germany is the Karl Höfner and Roderich Paesold workshop located in little village of Baiersdorf. There the firm employs six Geigenbau-meisters all of whom regularly make individual instruments entirely by hand and are considered to be some of Germany’s top contemporary makers. Andreas Haensel is the lead maker. This violin boasts a gorgeous transparent varnish on strikingly flamed maple. The tone blossoms through the spectrum of delicate to opulent.
