Domenico Montagnana (c1687-1750) worked in Venice and is known for powerful sounding cellos equal to the great Cremonese makers, such as Antonio Stradivari. Entirely hand-carved from solid tone woods (not plywood!) with clear spruce top and lightly flamed maple back, ribs and scroll this quality student cello features solid ebony fittings, a German tailpiece with integrated tuners, D’Addario Prelude Strings (made in Long Island), fiber glass bow and excellent sound and playability. Beautifully adjusted for perfect set-up this is an instrument any beginner will make fast progress with.
